Methodology

Salt (NaCl) = sodium × 2.54; WHO limit 2 g sodium / 5 g salt per day

salt (g) = sodium (mg) × 2.54 ÷ 1000

Sodium makes up about 39% of salt by weight (58.44 / 22.99 = 2.54). WHO recommends adults eat less than 2 g of sodium (5 g of salt) per day.

Who it is for
Adults; children's limits are lower and scaled to energy needs.
